 In 2018, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) ventured into the city gas distribution (CGD) business with a vision to become a comprehensive energy company, offering a wide range of energy solutions to consumers. Along with its two joint venture companies, IOCL now operates in 49 Geographical Areas (GAs) across 105 districts in 21 states and Union Territories, establishing itself as one of the leading players in the CGD sector. On its own, Indian Oil has a presence in 26 GAs and 75 districts across 11 states and UTs. The company is actively expanding its natural gas infrastructure, aligning with the Indian government's initiative to promote a gas-based economy that reduces environmental pollution and fosters overall economic development.
